Ernestus Skilt & Reklame in Trondheim, Norway has doubled its revenue within just a few years
A key reason is a focused investment in swissQprint technology combined with a clear strategy to unite high print quality with efficient and scalable production. Shortly before the coronavirus pandemic, the company invested in a swissQprint Nyala delivered by NIZE equipment. When the market regained momentum, Ernestus was ready with a stable and flexible production platform for large format printing and permanent signage solutions. This proved decisive in securing a multi-year nationwide profiling agreement with Rema 1000.
As volumes increased, the next step was an investment in the swissQprint Kudu large format printer. The objective was clear: increase productivity without compromising colour strength or precision. And the difference is not only visible in speed. According to Ernestus, Kudu delivers significantly stronger and more intense colours even at high production speeds. At maximum speed, colours remain saturated and consistent, without striping or fading. Tests with banners produced at top speed show the same colour strength as prints produced at lower speeds. For a company working with permanent solutions and large-scale visual branding, this consistency is critical.
swissQprint Kudu therefore combines high speed, stable print quality and consistent output even across larger runs and demanding applications. Precise drop placement and mechanical stability ensure reliable results, giving Ernestus more capacity per employee and a more scalable production setup. At the same time, the company has optimised workflow and planning, ensuring that large format production is supported by automated processes and efficient control from file to finished product. The combination of swissQprint technology, specialisation in permanent solutions and structured operations has significantly strengthened their competitiveness. Ernestus demonstrates how the right investment in swissQprint equipment can act as a strategic lever – not only for production, but for the entire business.
The case is based on a visit to Ernestus, where Petter Langkaas from NIZE equipment, together with journalist Anja Degerholm from Sign & Print, interviewed the company. The full article can be read at signogprint.no. Below you can see the video case that came out of it – enjoy.
